Join Us May 14th for Missing Persons Day 2016!

This years Missing Persons Day will be taking place at the Detroit Public Safety Headquarters between 1 and 5 pm! Who should attend? This event is free, family friendly, and open to the public. Families and friends affected by the disappearance of a loved one and the communities and organizations that assist to bring them home are especially encouraged to attend.

A private round table discussion will be held from 9 to 11:30 am for families with missing loved ones. Family members should pre-register to ensure their loved one is commemorated. Also, this is a “ID the Missing” event. Please bring at least two biological relatives of the missing and any police reports, x-rays, or other identifying documents to this event.

Miracle Murray

Miracle Murray was murdered on Saturday, April 16, 2016 at 1:30 p.m. Several children and adults were standing outside when an unknown gunman appeared from across the street near Clarita and started firing several shots. Miracle was killed and a male was injured. The shooting took place in the 18000 block of Winthrop on Detroit’s west side. Miracle was six months old.

WANTED: B&E of Liberty Pharmacy

The suspect is wanted for breaking and entering into the Liberty Pharmacy located at 39500 Ten Mile Road near Haggerty Road in Novi. The incident took place at 5:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 19, 2016. The pharmacy was located inside an office building which contains several other businesses from the medical community. The suspect is a white, male, approximately 5’8”-5’10” tall, medium build, wearing a long sleeve, blue shirt, blue pants, black Under Armor tennis shoes, with white accents, a black winter type mask and black gloves.

Steven Cal was found dead on Sunday, March 8, 2009 at approximately 8:30 a.m. According to family, Steven returned home from a night out the night before he was found. A neighbor heard gunshots and called 911. Police answered the call and were unable to pinpoint where the shots came from. Police were called a second time when a neighbor walking their dog discovered his body. Steven was a skilled tradesman, recently laid off from General Motors. The incident took place on Callie Drive, near Welch, south of Pontiac Trail in Commerce Township. Steven was 39 years old.

Wanted: Robbery in Novi

On April 21, 2016 at approximately 1:10 p.m., the pictured suspect entered Busch’s Market on 10 mile in the City of Novi. The suspect stole a black purse from inside a shopping cart and ran to a black passenger vehicle with a spoiler on the trunk and silver trim around the windows. The suspect is described as a white male, in his mid 20’s, light colored scruffy beard, curly hair and 5’7” to 5’10” tall. He was wearing a dark blue and grey hoodie, blue jeans and brown work type boots.

Animal Abuse – Shih-Tzu

A male Shih-Tzu was thrown out of a moving vehicle on Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at approximately 3:35 p.m. Witnesses called in an injured dog report on northbound Gratiot. Callers assumed the dog was possibly struck by a vehicle in traffic. According to witnesses of the incident, the dog had been thrown from a moving vehicle. The incident took place in front of 38 N. Gratiot Ave. near the Mount Clemens Post Office.

Martin Anderson was shot by unknown persons after leaving the Iron Coffins Motorcycle Club on Saturday, December 29, 2012.  The shooting took place at 6:35 a.m. at the Intersection of Dearborn St. and Burdeno, between W. Jefferson Ave. and Thaddeus St., on Detroit’s southwest side.  Martin was 33 years old and was a decorated soldier with the United States Marine Corps.

Anthony Mitchell was murdered on Sunday, November 27, 2010 at 11:15 p.m. Anthony was exiting a liquor store when an unknown person murdered him. The incident took place on the 1600 block of West Grand Blvd. in Detroit. Anthony was 36 years old.

Homicide in East Lansing

On Thursday, February 5, 2015, a homicide took place at 11:55 p.m. in the first level ramp of the Grove Street parking garage, across from the downtown 7-11 convenience store in East Lansing, MI. Two victims were shot inside the ramp: one perished as a result of the shooting, the other received non-life threatening wounds. The cause of the shooting is determined to be drug related. The subjects were reportedly selling prescription pills.

The suspects are described as two black males, approximate age unknown. They were last observed leaving the parking garage in a clean and newer model vehicle. The vehicle is described as red in color, possibly a Dodge Charger, Challenger, or Avenger or a Lincoln MKS or MKZ. The parking garage ramp did not have surveillance video. The suspects are possibly from the Detroit area.

Dakari Mitchell, 21, was murdered on Sunday, February 7, 2016 at 1:45 p.m. The incident took place in the 28000 block of Glenwood near Harrison and Avondale Streets. Dakari appeared to have arranged to meet with an unknown subject to purchase a Play Station 4 game console. Once at the arranged meeting place, the victim was sitting in the driver’s seat of his vehicle when a subject, seen standing
outside the driver’s window, shot Dakari with a handgun. The suspect is described as a black male with a short dread hairstyle and was wearing a dark colored jacket. The suspect was seen getting into the rear seat of a dark colored vehicle which fled the scene.

Eric Hargrove, a.k.a. Butter was murdered on Sunday, November 11, 2015 between 10 – 10:30 p.m. The shooting took place in the 800 block of Desoto Street near Nash Avenue and Dodge Avenue in the city of Ypsilanti. According to family Eric answered the door for an unknown suspect claiming to have car trouble. As Eric turned to get his phone, he was shot in the head by the unknown suspect.

Andre Johnson, 23, was murdered on Saturday, August 29, 2015 at 7:15 p.m. The incident took place at the intersection of 3735 E. Vernor and Mt. Elliot Streets on the northeast side of Detroit. Andre, along with his girlfriend and children, stopped at the BP Station for oil and gas. Andre’s girlfriend when inside to pay for the gas and oil. An unknown suspect approached their vehicle from the passenger side and fired several shots into the vehicle, killing Andre Johnson.

Christopher Johnson

Christopher Johnson was murdered on Wednesday, March 8, 2016 at 9:30 p.m. Christopher and two others were at a gathering sitting in his grey 4-door 2015 Mazda. An unknown gunman appeared and started shooting into the car. Christopher and one passenger were hit by the gunfire. Christopher sped off and hit two cars before coming to a stop at Linwood and Grand. The incident started near the intersection of LaSalle and Grand. Christopher was dead at the scene and the passenger survived.
