Maurice Parker Mims, 64, was killed by a hit-and-run driver on Friday, November 11, 2016 at approximately 5:30 p.m. Mr. Mims was using the crosswalk at the intersection of Randolph and Larned Streets when he was struck by a silver Chevy Impala. The driver of the Chevy Impala was observed swerving in and out of traffic moments before striking Mr. Mims. The incident took place at the intersection of Larned and Randolph Streets, north of E. Jefferson Ave. in downtown Detroit. Mr. Mims was 64 years old.
