Highland Park PD: 11-year-old abducted, sexually assaulted
The Highland park police Department has released a sketch of a man they are calling a ‘person of interest’ related to the abduction and rape of an 11-year-old girl.
Police say the young girl was on Church St. just south of John R and McNichols on December 10. According to the police report, the girl was on her way to school between 7:45 and 8:15 when she was abducted at gunpoint and forced into a vacant home.
The report says once inside the home, she was sexually assaulted by the man.
Police describe the suspect as a dark-skinned black man, over 6 feet tall and between 160 and 180 pounds. Police believe he is in his mid to late 20′s.
Crime Stoppers of Michigan is offering a cash reward of up to $1,000 for information that leads to an arrest. Anyone who knows information is asked to call 1-800-SPEAK-UP.
