Jalen Brown, a.k.a. “Jay,” was murdered on Friday, January 1, 2016 at about 11:22 p.m. Jalen was waiting outside his cousin’s home for his mother and siblings. He was seated inside his 2007, silver, four Door Chevy Impala. The suspects pulled up next to him in a burgundy or black car. The suspect on the passenger side shot him multiple times, killing him. The incident took place in the 15000 block of Ward Ave., between Puritan Ave. and Pilgrim St. on Detroit’s west side. Jalen was 21 years old.
